QGIS Maps

Moving a place on the map

Open the .qgz file, and "Toggle Editing" (either with the Layer > Toggle Editing command, or the little pencil icon in the toolbar).

Then in the Advanced Digitizing Toolbar, click on "Move Feature". Then you can click on a location to select it, and click again to place it in a new spot.

Note

Open the "Attribute Table" for that layer to easily find and select a particular point so that you can move it (because sometimes the label is far away from the point).

Adding a New Location to the Map

Toggle Editing, then "Add Point Feature" (Ctrl + period). You need to set the Name, Type (to either Area, City or 7 City) and Legend Num (the number that shows in the label).

Exporting an updated PNG file

Go to Project > Layouts > to SGC and click on it. This will open up a layout panel with a preview. In that preview window, go to Layout > Export as Image and save as a PNG with 300 DPI.
